twenty-seven; and honey, you were never going to change. [May. 26th, 2009|12:06 pm]
[Andromeda]
You asked me to tell you who killed your husband: I have discovered who it was, Andromeda, and you may look no further than me. I killed him. I would do it again. There is nothing more to say than this.

Actually, there is. But I want to say it in person.

I have seen the Dark Lord and He would like us to train again. You shouldn't worry about hurting me, Rodolphus.

Perhaps it would be better if you brushed up a bit ... ?

Also, who killed Ted Tonks?

twenty-five; the baffled king composes [May. 5th, 2009|03:47 pm]
My sister The world is a very big place. You should all do well to remember your stations.

[Warded Private].

Am I to understand that we have devolved to allowing hags to cannibalise our enemies' dead bodies? These stupid men are so barbaric, their old boys' club jokes and their wine drinking. They sit at the brink of Hogwarts. Are they digging earthworks, are they trying to breach the walls? Is there even a plan in place ... NO, they are bothering the younger rank & file and permitting hags to eat dead bodies. Such desecration should not be tolerated ... I'd sooner make an Inferi and be done with it than do that, as I can see absolutely no use for those women and their rough magic.

What I have thusfar sussed out:

Rodolphus Lestrange: husband, 2nd marriage, has a son, was my mentor, big fan of books
Severus Snape: taught occlumency, halfblood of surpassing talent, would probably like him
Marius Lestrange: Rodolphus's son and heir, bought him a horse, teaching him to throw knives, French
Corbina Lestrange: Rodolphus's sister
Astra (Avery) Lestrange: Marius's wife; pregnant
Lucius Malfoy: Narcissa's husband

Hello, darling! Oh, I simply forgot to mention something I've been meaning to tell you for ages. I'm sure you've been terribly upset. Poor thing. Your friends just keep dying, don't they?

Nevertheless, I shall still your troubled mind.

Dorcas Meadowes died very little, very sad and very alone. I killed her myself.

twenty-four; when the cold wind blows all around. [Apr. 2nd, 2009|09:55 am]
Whosoever would deign to attack the Minister ought to be given a medal is just as dangerous as any Foreign Terrorist.

If they are caught, I hope that the Wizengamot deems it necessary to give them the harshest punishment imaginable.

We live in precarious times. I should think that people would like the few that advocate for them to stay safe.

[Marius]
Do you yet live enough to exact the proper revenge on your would-be murderers? Because you did, in point of fact, miss a rather fruitful lesson.

Snape showed true promise; his Cruciatus was strong, his mind not impregnable but steadfast. He will advance. He will succeed. Marius -- Morganna, I do not need this. Rodolphus does not need this. I fear for him.

Death Eaters and Supporters. [Feb. 20th, 2009|12:09 am]
There has been an explosion at the library in Hogsmeade. You are to follow my instructions to the letter. If anyone has spare Healing supplies, send your owls. Here is a list of things that must be done:

Demetrius: Alert the authorities and find out if anyone saw anything. Ben and Rabastan, should they be up to it, will be quite helpful to you as they were on patrol. I want a report as soon as you know anything.

Severus: Assess the severity of the damage and report to me in person. Take Gaius with you and if you are asked, you are acting as my representative.

I want each and every one of you to respond to this, acknowledge your part in it and swear that you will not do anything that could endanger the Dark Lord's plans or the tenuous situation in which we now find ourselves.

[Warded to Death Eaters]
In order to maintain the Dark Lord's control of Wizarding areas while the Ministry reconstitutes itself, you will patrol Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade every night from 9 PM to 1 AM. If there are any problems, you are to report them directly to me and I will shuttle the information to the most appropriate senior member. I will have no excuses. You will be there and you will stay out of sight, maintain peace and collect information to return to your superiors.

Here are your assignments (I shall change these on a monthly basis should you prove to be not entirely miserable). I expect a response in the affirmative from every one of you. Though the schedule will change, I expect this monitoring to continue until a more choice Law Enforcement system has been put in place. There are curfew wards that will alert you to potential insolence. It could be days. It could be years.

This has the potential to cut into your social time - but, I shall ask you, what is there more important than maintaining the Dark Lord's grip on England?

Nothing.

Monday

Hogsmeade: Snape and Travers
Diagon Alley: Crouch and Vance

Tuesday

Hogsmeade: Marius Lestrange and Demetrius Mulciber
Diagon Alley: Aquila Avery and Quentin Bletchley

Wednesday

Hogsmeade: Alecto Carrow and Ferdinand Gibbon
Diagon Alley: Harper and Bellatrix Lestrange

twenty-one; east for those real green eyes [Feb. 12th, 2009|11:19 pm]
January and February are good months for birthing colts. Three already, at the estate in Valencia, have been born. When the oranges are ripe for picking, they will be weaned and begin their training. Though I prefer to break my own colts, the distance and the sheer number is far too great for one woman. There is one Lusitano stud colt, however, that shall come to England to be with me. He shall know the hand of no other but myself. To see a horse - a creature of rugged invidualism - willingly submit itself to the will of another is a sight of which I shall never tire.

Walden and Jacqueline, I do hope Rome suits you. The Mediterranean air will be but a memory when you return to our frozen, blustery northlands. Severus, you are a fine dancer.

[Private]
A lesson my father taught me that I must never forget: To be a woman, possessed of myself in the world that I live in, is to be alone. I do not rely on anyone's strength but my own, I live by my wits and use tooth or claw to take power. To keep power. To command respect.

I will remember this, Father, as I take what is rightfully ours. The affairs of society women is not my place nor, I dare say, is the meddling bureaucracy of the Ministry. If I was a woman who lived in fear, I would wonder what my place was in the Dark Lord's brave new world.

I shall not be afraid. I was not raised to know fear. I know that the Dark Lord shall provide and barring that, I will make my way as ever I have.

twenty; denial, denial (your ears should be burning) [Feb. 8th, 2009|12:41 am]
I offer my congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Walden Macnair. May your union flourish and bear much fruit in the light of our brave new world. I am happy for the both of you.

On a comparable topic, the words of Albus Dumbledore should not be taken lightly. An old, foolhardy man such as himself (who would dare to impugn the sacrosanct nature of our new, glorious Ministry) can only do harm to those he thinks to "harbour".

What has this Ministry done other than uphold justice and right the wrongs visited upon Britain's citizens by those power-hungry people now cowering in the shadows? How much longer shall innocent blood be spilt because of the stupidity of some?

Albus Dumbledore, I shall say it again: Your day has come and gone. People would be wise to fear - not revere - you.

[Warded Private (added later) - readable by Rodolphus]
I SHALL SMILE as MY LORD TRAMPLES HIM UNDERFOOT. ALBUS bloody buggering Dumbledore, the world's worst gadfly shall DIE. I WILL NOT PUBLICALLY DENY LORD VOLDEMORT MUCH LONGER.

WHEN SHALL HE RISE, WHEN SHALL HIS GLORY BE UNCLOAKED ...

Mister Travers, doth my eyes deceive me? Am I to understand that you espouse these ideologies in your daily life?

I do not stand for such ignorance among Lord Voldemort's ranks.

eighteen; what wasted unconditional love [Jan. 16th, 2009|04:46 pm]
Those murderers were in my house. By hook or by crook, I hope the Ministry will now shake off it's cloak of apathy and catch those responsible for the incarceration and deaths of so many of our proud citizens. Imagine! A coup d'etat right within the organisation that is supposed to be protecting our interests.

[Warded Private]
So many pregnancies. I recognise Chloris's gesture in the naming of Iris Belvina. I will always remember that kindness.

So much rests upon Narcissa's little child. He shall be the last great scion of the Black tradition, though he bears the Malfoy name. Through his blood my father will live on through countless generations, long after I am dead and gone.

And I There is nothing I can do about it. There is nothing to say, nothing to feel, nothing to gain, nothing to lose. It's gone. I have filled my life with purpose, I have given way to the Dark Lord's will. I will not regret something I never wanted, anyway.

I am cold and barren as the moon. I am the virgin huntress. I shall not be moved.

By the Dark Lord's will, you have succeeded in this endeavour and I am pleased to call you comrades. But death, though painful, is easy. Perhaps the easiest thing in the world. Now for Reconstruction, now for re-imagining. The Dark Lord entrusts His vision to your sometimes capable hands. See that you do not fail if you do i will kill you all Him.

sixteen; so this is the new year [Jan. 1st, 2009|11:24 pm]
[Death Eaters and Supporters]
The New Year heralds a great many things for us; a multitude of firsts await our wondering eyes and our ready, open hearts. I say this to you because I believe that a new era - one seeded in the glorious traditions of our past - may only be borne out of blood, tears and heartache.

And I say to you: Have we not shed enough tears? Have we not spilt enough too precious blood? Have our hearts not been wrenched from our chests by those who would dare to call themselves magical?

NO MORE.

1980 shall be our year. With the Dark Lord's will, we shall see victory in a scant few days.

Chloris Burke's vanities gag me with the profundity of their tastelessness. I sent her a congratulatory owl, however, I wish that I had thought to lace the flowers with poison. How DARE she suggest that your foundation is not intellectual or culturally stimulating. If she were not Rodolphus's sister, I'd have a pound of flesh for her insolence.

[Warded to Marius]
If any doubt the nature of Regulus's death, have them killed. I don't care who they are. I expect that you will find Barty very helpful in this endeavour.

[Warded to Barty Crouch, Jr]
My dear, dear student. You have been more loyal to me and mine than some of my own blood. You are as family to me and I would, in the name of the Dark Lord's great honour, do most anything for you. And in saying that, I must say this else:

I think you, of perhaps all our compatriots, most intensely understand the importance of designating a suitable end for Regulus. Though his demise proved both untimely and circumspect (as to his disappearance), I charge you with maintaining the levity and respect that should be levied to the heir of the most ancient and noble House of Black. And also your brother in everything except blood.

If there are those who doubt him - who doubt me - I would that you tell me. Together, then, we can dole out swift and suitable justice to they who would besmirch our Regulus's memory. I expect you will find Marius very helpful in this endeavour, as well.

fourteen; east for the white spirit world. [Dec. 6th, 2008|10:44 pm]
The great personal expense I endured to follow my dearest cousin's path was well worth the effort. Regulus Arcturus Black now has an end to his story. Not the end I would have chosen for him, certainly. I would have seen him happy and fulfilled as he was supposed to have been. But, nevertheless, an end. And we shall bear his passing with the greatest sorrow.

I followed Regulus's trail to Italy where, after having spoken with the authorities, discovered the details of his final moments. Italy, like England, has been in the throes of cultural revolution. Their Muggles are a hellish lot, given to savagery of the greatest kind. There was a village festival - the name and nature of which, I do not care to divulge - near where Regulus was staying. Simply a victim of the cruel and callous nature of the savage Muggles whipped to frenzy by dancing and drink, he was drug from his hotel and stoned to death in the street.

Afterward, his body was dumped in the nearby sea where it was later found by Wizard authorities. My inquiries were not long after - of course, they matched Regulus's description - and I travelled to Italy to identify and claim his body. On his person we found a ticket-stub for a ferry ride and a set of keys.

These were the keys to a villa on the isle of Capri, what I believe was to be his wedding present to his bride.

We will not fail you, Regulus, we will not falter. We will see you home, where you belong and with the people who love you.

I would ask all of you to respect my family's privacy in their time of mourning. Regulus was the light of our lives and, somehow, we have lost our guiding star.

thirteen; west for the black setting sun [Dec. 2nd, 2008|01:09 pm]
If the English authorities will not stoop to searching for my cousin (despite their rather invasive and rigorous occupation of my home), I will deploy the resources I have to personally find him.

[Warded to Narcissa]
Tell no one else. We are going to bear this burden for our family. I am gathering the necessary documentation and subsequently paying off the proper Italian authorities.

This weekend, I will make it known that Regulus's body was found off the coast of Italy, beaten to death by a horde of angry Muggles due to a local misunderstanding of which he unwittingly stumbled upon. He was in Italy for only a short time to secure a wedding present for Julianne - a villa on the island of Capri.

It is a necessary fiction, darling. No one else may know and you (if it is more palatable to you), may believe it if you must. I can be strong for us.
